Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case: The autopsy report of the 31-year-old victim has revealed some bone-chilling details about the case. It has confirmed 14 injuries on the victim's body. Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Case: The fight against the brutal rape and murder case of the 31-year-old doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College is getting stronger each day. The Indian Medical Association had organised a strike on August 17, and there have been some latest updates on the same along with the progress in CBI’s investigation. Here’s all you need to know about the case so far.

1. Doctors Hold OPD Service Outside Health Ministry

To protest against poor working conditions and safety measures for doctors inside the hospital, the AIIMS Doctors will offer free OPD services to patients outside the health ministry until their demands are met.

2. Autopsy Report Confirms Forceful Penetration: Report

Many horrifying details about the rape case have emerged in the autopsy report. As per the news, 14 injuries were found on the victim’s body and reports also confirm forceful penetration. As per an India Today report, the injuries were found on the 31-year-old’s face, neck, arms and genitals. Manual strangulation and an unknown sticky liquid were also mentioned in the autopsy report.

3. Parents Believe More People Are Involved

The victim’s parents have issued some strong statements against the West Bengal Chief Minister. They strongly believe that more people are involved in the crime and that it cannot be one person’s work. The victim’s father has also claimed that there were efforts made to destroy the evidence and shut down the protests demanding justice for his daughter. The victim’s father stated that his daughter was cremated first among the three bodies at the cremation ground and also said that nothing substantial has come out of the CBI’s investigation as of yet, as per the news. The victim’s parents have asked people to support them in their fight for justice.

4. Victim’s Lawyer Accuses Mamata Banerjee For Vandalism

The lawyer representing the  31-year-old victim’s case also issued a statement and accused West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee of the vandalism at the RG Kar Medical College. He also added that the CBI suspects the victim was killed somewhere else.

5. Supreme Court Takes Suo Moto Cognisance

On August 18, the Supreme Court took suo moto of the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case. The case will be presented before Justice DY Chandrachud before on August 20, Tuesday.

6. Principal Sandeep Ghosh Called For Questioning Again

RG Kar Medical College’s principal Sandeep Ghosh was called for questioning again and this is the fourth time in a row. His WhatsApp chats and calls are also under surveillance. On August 18, Sandeep Ghosh was questioned for over 13 hours at a stretch, and the CBI already suspects some discrepancies in his statements.

7. More Arrests Made In The RG Kar Medical College Vandalism Case

Around 37 people have been arrested in the vandalism case at the RG Kar Medical College.

8. AAP Member Harbhajan Singh’s Open Letter To Mamata Banerjee

Former Indian Cricketer Harbhajan Singh has addressed a letter to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Governor CV Ananda Bose. The AAP Rajya Sabha Member expressed his disappointment over the delayed justice for the Kolkata rape and murder victim. He also demanded strong and quick action in the case.
