The legal battle in Sunjay Kapur’s family got intense after the unfortunate demise of the businessman. The recent one has erupted in the family’s trust, earlier, who beneficiary was Sunjay Kapur. Now, there are reports suggesting that his wife Priya Kapur has legally asked the removal of his mother Rani Kapur as the trustee from the RK Family Trust. Read here to know more about it.
What Is The Controversy
Sunjay Kapur’s RK Family Trust was currently under intense dispute before the court. As per an ANI report, Sunjay Kapur’s wife Priya Kapur has issued a legal notice to remove his mother Rani Kapur as the trustee of the trust. According to the reports, the notice will be in effect from March 25, 2026. The notice states that that the trust was started in 2017, and after the sole beneficiary of the trust, Sunjay Kapur, the benefits would be given to his kids, Master Azarias Suri Kapur, Ms Samaira Kapur, and Master Kiaan Kapur. The notice also questions Rani Kapur’s action related to the trust after Sunjay Kapur’s (sole beneficiary) demise. It also acknowleges that Rani Kapur approached Delhi HC to question the validity of the trust and request the relief related to its assets.
In the notice, Priya Kapur has called such actions ‘inconsistent’ and has asked for a removal of Rani Kapur as the trustee, invoking Clause 8.11 of the trust deed. It further says that her decisions regarding the trust post March 25, 2026 would be considered invalid.
