Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband and Indian industrialist, Sunjay Kapur, unexpectedly passed away today, on June 12. The Sona Comstar was in his early 50s when he suffered a cardiac arrest that led to his demise. The news was confirmed to ANI by business consultant Suhel Sheth, who revealed that Sunjay’s heart attack was triggered by a bee sting. How Did Sunjay Kapur Die

Even though Sunjay Kapur’s company, Sona Comstar, did not reveal much about his death in their statement, except that it was caused by a heart attack, Suhel shared more details. He said that Sunjay had attended a polo match in England prior to his death, where he accidentally swallowed a bee. The bee was allegedly the reason for Sunjay’s heart attack and ultimately his demise.

Can A Bee Sting Actually Kill You

A University of Melbourne study claims that a bee uses its defence mechanisms, which include a venom sac and a barbed stinger, when it senses danger. After stinging, a bee injects venom into the skin, frequently leaving the stinger behind.

Most people can experience pain, swelling, stinging, and irritation from this venom, which is a strong combination of proteins and chemicals. Even though a single sting usually causes only mild local effects, some people experience severe allergic reactions to the venom, which can result in anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening condition.

According to the study, severe complications like life-threatening problems and hospitalisation are usually caused by the body’s allergic reactivity rather than just the venom. Although swallowing a bee may seem like an uncommon risk, experts say fatal symptoms happen occasionally, particularly when engaging in outdoor summer activities.  According to Dr. Bobbi Pritt, a microbiologist and pathologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, insects that may sting or bite, like bees, wasps, and fire ants, can be dangerous if eaten.
