A devoted follower of Swami Kailashnand Giri, the Acharya Mahamandleshwar of Niranjini Akhara, she arrived at the spiritual gathering on Saturday night, accompanied by a team of 40 people. Dressed modestly in a peach-yellow salwar suit, adorned with a Rudraksha mala and Rakshasutra on her arm, Laurene was warmly received at the Niranjini Akhara camp. She was greeted with traditional fanfare, including the sound of trumpets, and treated to masala tea served in an earthen kulhad. Her presence at the camp highlights her deep spiritual connection to Indian culture and rituals. Before arriving in Prayagraj, Laurene visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on Saturday. While she offered prayers outside the main sanctum due to temple customs prohibiting non-Hindus from entering, she displayed great reverence for the traditions.

Guided by Swami Kailashnand Giri, she took part in the rituals from a respectful distance, reflecting her deep admiration for Indian spiritual practices. Laurene Powell Jobs will remain at the Niranjini Akhara camp until January 15, participating in the various spiritual activities of the Maha Kumbh. Her schedule includes witnessing the ceremonial Amrit Snan, the auspicious bathing ritual, on January 14, which marks Makar Sankranti. Niranjini Akhara, along with other akharas, will perform their ordained dips in sequence during this significant occasion.
