Fans Call Out Roadies Host Sonu Sood For Casual Racism In Video, Say “Have Some Shame”

Even today, casual racism is quite common. As a joke or an unintentional comment, people often pass offensive remarks about anyone’s race or sex. But an actor doing it can never go unnoticed, also because they have so many people looking up to them. A recent incident of casual sexism by Sonu Sood was called out by many people after the actor shared a video on his social media handle. The actor is currently hosting the MTV show Roadies and Rhea Chakraborty is one of the gang leaders’ on it.

Sonu Sood turned a chef on the set of Roadies. The shoot is currently happening in Himachal Pradesh and the actor made some delicious dosas and bhaturas for the crew. In fact, he also served crispy dosas to actress Rhea Chakraborty. In the video, Sonu Sood is seen making dosas and talking to the actress. There was also a girl in the video for whom Sonu Sood casually remarked, “Ye China se aayi hain dosa khaane” (She has come from China to have my dosas). This remark was duly noted by the internet users who in return criticised the actor for his racist comments. In the video, the internet users reminded the actor about being insensitive towards a person’s race and wrote that the girl can also be a resident of North East or Ladakh. They criticised Sonu Sood for setting a bad example with his racist remarks.

This is exactly what casual and unintentional racism looks like. We might think that such comments come across as funny but it is not really the case. In the video, everyone around the actor laughed it off which should not have been the case though. Sonu Sood is adored by the people, especially after his acts of humanity during the pandemic. However, as someone who has such a vast fan following, he should have been more careful with his statements or jokes!
