Police revealed that the three men had stopped her in one of the videos and forcibly filmed an inappropriate video, demanding money to keep it a secret. After she refused to pay, they converted some parts of the clip and circulated them in WhatsApp groups to intimidate her into submitting a complaint to the Balochistan Police.

After the police’s prompt action, three suspects named Akmal Dagho, Paidal Jhakarani and Molabakhsh Jhakarani were arrested as members of the extortion ring. Digital forensics has been applied by the police to track the circulation of this video. This has also sparked a major debate in Pakistan regarding the safety and dignity of female creators. At the same time, scammers have taken this as an opportunity to spread fake news in India and Bangladesh due to the widespread interest in the incident.

It is a deceptive process that conceals hazardous connections behind eye-catching baits, potentially jeopardising the virtual security and anonymity of those who click on them.

Analytics have warned that it is unsafe on both ends; on one hand, it may be against the laws of cybercrime both in India and Pakistan, while on the other hand, the majority of links that contain the complete footage are hacked.
