Sachin Tendulkar Exposes Deepfake Video Of Him Saying Sara Tendulkar Earns From An App, Demands Quick Action!

Sachin Tendulkar recently exposed a deepfake video of him claiming that his daughter, Sara Tendulkar earns money through online gaming, promoting and commenting on videos. The video claims that the said online game is the “easiest” way to earn good money. Soon after the video went viral, the former cricketer responded to it by calling it “disturbing” while highlighting how the rampant misuse of the internet, technology and social media has been causing misinformation. In his tweet, Sachin also demanded swift action to be taken to put an end to spreading such false information.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar went on to suggest that social media platforms remain alert and responsive to such complaints wherein dangerous information is being spread using someone else’s name which could turn out to be dangerous. NGL, but gullible people might fall prey to such videos which will then allow new fraudsters to scam them out of their hard-earned money. What is even more shocking is that the video features Sachin Tendulkar’s voice as well which sounds absolutely legit. All of this makes deepfake videos and pictures even more alarming.

Reacting to the video, internet users stressed the fact that not many people would know the difference between a deep fake video and a real video. Some users also suggested that the former cricket file a case against the owner of the application which was promoted in the viral deepfake video. Several Twitter users questioned why such apps are not banned in India and who is benefitting from such AI-manipulated videos and misinformation.

This video is from the 100th episode of Curly Tales’ Sunday Brunch hosted by Kamiya Jani which was released on Sachin Tendulkar’s 50th birthday, about 8 months ago. Some users claim that this video has been manipulated by Curly Tales but that is not the case. Take a look at the complete video.

But Did You Know, This Isn’t The First Viral Deepfake Video Of Sachin Tendulkar?

This is not the first time that a deepfake video of Sachin Tendulkar has emerged. In the past, several deepfake videos of the cricketer have gone viral which could’ve affected the reputation of the sportsman.

Furthermore, not just Sachin but his family has also been a victim of this dangerous trend. Just a few weeks ago, the cricketer’s daughter, Sara Tendulkar took to social media to call out deepfake videos, pictures and fake Twitter accounts created under her name. Sara too highlighted how this impersonation of her was disturbing to witness. She also expressed her concern about how technology is being used to spread misinformation.

Being a meta generation, trolls have been extensively using AI to manipulate pictures and videos to create memes and viral content leading to a major rise in deepfake videos and pictures of celebs and public figures. While we’re all infuriated by such content, it is also important that we stop sharing such content to break the cycle while raising awareness about it and actively reporting it.
