Who Is Rini Ann George, Actress Who Accused Kerala MLA Of Sending Her Inappropriate Messages?

The actress has accused the powerful youth leader of alleged misconduct.

Malayali actress and former journalist Rini Ann George has recently been making headlines after accusing a powerful MLA of harassing her by sending George inappropriate text messages. Without mentioning the politician’s name, Rini Ann revealed that she had also been invited to a hotel by the politician. Read on to know more about the case and who Rini Ann George is.

Who is Rini Ann George?

Before entering the film industry, Rini was a journalist who worked in several news agencies in Kerala. She had been working in the industry for around 4 years from 7002 to 2020 after she received a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Madras. Recently, the actress starred in the Malayalam action thriller film Guinness Pakru-led 916 Kunjoottan as a supporting character. The film also featured actors like  Tini Tom, Rakesh Subramanian, Dayyana Hameed, and Niya Varghese in lead roles.

Rini Ann George first spoke out about her experience in an online interview, which went incredibly viral on the internet. Without revealing the identity of the politician or the party, Rini claimed that she repeatedly warned the leader and complained to senior party officials.

Rini alleged that she came in contact with the politician through social media. His alleged inappropriate behaviour towards her began three years ago, when she first received objectionable messages from him. Speculations have been going on that the accused politician is Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil.

Talking to Om Manorama, Rini Ann George also said, “I received inappropriate messages from the politician. He invited me to a location to spend time with him. When I told him that I would complain about him, he challenged me to go through with it. ‘Who cares?’ was his attitude,”  

She also said that she has not suffered any assault, only the messages. However, Rini Ann George revealed that she is speaking up for several other women who have suffered harassment.

Soon after Rini, author Honey Bhaskaran also accused the MLA of the same allegations through a Facebook post.
