Supreme Court Refuses To Transfer The RG Kar Case

In the latest updates on the horrifying RG Kar College rape and murder case in Kolkata, the Supreme Court has dismissed the plea to hold the trials outside West Bengal. The SC bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud noted that the trial court could have ordered another problem if the results were not satisfactory, as per news reports.

The Supreme Court bench also went through the CBI reports but refrained from commenting on them because the investigation is still ongoing.

A Sealdah court has filed a case against the prime accused Sanjay Roy. The CBI also submitted reports backed with evidence like CCTV cameras, DNA reports and other materials that were collected during the investigation. The court has ordered everyday trials of the case from November 11.

The rape and murder case of a 31-year-old doctor happened on August 9 and a civic volunteer, Sanjay Roy was arrested the next day. However, the prime accused has continued to deny the allegations against him, as per news reports. The principal of the RG Kar Medical College is also under police custody currently and the bail plea for him has also been denied.
