On Wednesday, Ratan Tata, the esteemed veteran industrialist and former chairman of the Tata group, sadly passed away at the age of 86. He was taken to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Monday after his blood pressure dropped significantly and was in serious condition in the intensive care unit. Reportedly, the body of Ratan Tata will be taken to the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai at 10:30 am.

According to news reports, Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to attend the funeral on behalf of the Modi government. Furthermore, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that Ratan Tata will receive a state funeral for his significant contributions. While talking to reporters, CM Eknath Shinde revealed that the late Ratan Tata’s relatives informed them that his mortal remains would be kept at the NCPA in south Mumbai on Thursday for people to pay their last respects.

Amit Shah deeply saddened by the news of Ratan Tata’s demise shared a long note. He wrote,  “He will live on in our hearts. My condolences to Tata Group and his countless admirers. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.” Ratan Tata’s contributions to the business world and his visionary leadership at the Tata Group have left a mark on the industry and society.
