The video is from the convocation ceremony at Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication, located in Jaipur. While receiving the degree, the student remarks, “Thank you for the honour after disrespecting and insulting HJU.”

The Clarification Video

Sara Ismail posted a clarification to address the situation. In this, she said that HJU was the only government college for journalism in Rajasthan. The college had invited 271 students from the last two years and had promised them their degrees. They were also advised to follow a dress code. As per Sara, many students were also accompanied by their parents, and all of them were looking forward to receiving their degrees. She added that the ceremony had kicked off, and all the speeches had taken place, with gold medalists also receiving their honours. And then the ceremony ended, as per Sara.

The student further added that there was chaos after the ceremony was suddenly stopped. According to the video, the parents felt insulted, and the students were angry. Sara also added that the dignitaries were not ready to give their 15 minutes to the ceremony, and everyone started leaving. She also criticised the university’s mismanagement and said that it left everyone disappointed. The Governor had left, and only the Deputy CM and the Vice Chancellor returned for the ceremony. Sara Ismail firmly said that the students deserved their degrees with respect for the three years of hard work, and added that her statement was made on behalf of everyone. She said that her anger was felt by every student in the room.
