There are some reports around Rajasthan college students being detained for some statements they made against IAS officer Tina Dabi. The situation escalated when the students were protesting over the hike in examination fees and wanted to meet the officer; however, some students allegedly made a comment that did not sit well with the authorities, and they were reportedly detained. What Happened?
The students of Barmer’s Maharana Bhupal College (MBC) Girls College were protesting against the examination fee hike on Saturday. To discuss this issue, the students wanted to meet the IAS officer Tina Dabi. However, things escalated when another officer said that Tina Dabi should be their role model. However, as per an NDTV report, in response, the students argued that she was not a role model as she would have come to meet them. The students instead called her a ‘reel star’ for going everywhere to make reels instead of focusing on the problems. As per the report, the students who argued were affiliated to the BJP-backed students’ body, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
Furthermore, the police responded to the claims and clarified that there were no arrests made, nor any student was detained. However, the police also added that they had brought boys to calm the situation to the police station, but later they were asked to leave. As per the police, many students stood outside the police station and demanded apology from the authorities, but when senior officials spoke to them, them left.

In a written statement to the publication, Tina Dabi also dismissed the claims about detention, and also added that the fee hike was resolved but some students continued to create a chaos on the road. She also spoke about the issue talked about on social media and said that it was done for some cheap publicity.
