Pune-Based Lawyer Seeks Legal Action Against Hardik Pandya
Lawyer Wajid Khan submitted a complaint at Pune’s Shivaji Nagar police station. He alleged that Hardik Pandya had wrapped the Indian flag around himself while celebrating his win with his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma at the Narendra Modi Stadium ground. While conversing with ANI, the advocate stated that as per Section 2 of the 1971 National Flag Act, the dignity of the national flag should be respected. The advocate added that the cricketer was so lost in celebration of his win that he was lying with his girlfriend, wearing the national flag. As per Khan, it was an “insult” to the flag.
He said that he has filed a complaint with the Shivaji Nagar police station, adding that when he went to file a complaint, he was told that the incident didn’t happen in Pune City. The lawyer told them that the national flag is a symbol of the entire nation, so he can file a complaint at the Shivaji Nagar police station. The advocate also mentioned that his complaint has been accepted and he was provided with a copy. He is looking ahead to see what happens next.
