Pranavi Urs Becomes First Woman Golfer To Win Indian Golf Premier League
On Thursday, Pranavi Urs became the first professional woman golfer to win a golf tournament while playing alongside men. The player was in joint lead with Karandeep Kochhar, with both shooting 6-under, but she slipped to third on the second day after an even par performance. On the last day of the IGPL Invitational Mumbai, the 22-year-old shot an incredible 8-under 60, the best score of the tournament, at the Par-68 Bombay Presidency Golf Club.

Pranavi admitted that her IGPL debut on Wednesday, while trailing behind Kocchar, was a “grind”; however, she learnt how to turn the tables by Thursday, achieving one of the most significant wins of her career.
Pranavi also revealed that her second day was not that good, hence she did not have any expectations in the finale, so she just decided to have fun. “I play my best when I have fun and give myself a lot of opportunities,” said the golfer after the second round.
And that is exactly how she made history. In contrast to Kochhar’s 64, which concluded with his second eagle of the day, Pranavi Urs played an effective and reliable game with eight birdies, the final of which, fittingly, came on the 18th to finish 14-under for the week. Kochhar finished with a 12-under score.
