In recent events, Indian cricketer Riyan Parag went viral after a video of him from the Rajasthan Royals dressing room went viral. During the IPL match of Punjab Kings, the broadcast camera briefly caught him with what seemed like a vape. This quickly grabbed attention online and left fans concerned. Having said this, it is important to note that there is not clear public rule against vaping, but the Board of Control for cricket in India (BCCI) has strict rules for players’ behaviour in the stadiums. Things tobacco or any related products inside the dressing rooms or dugouts is banned under health and safety protocols, and has put Parag at a risk for punishment.

This controversy came at a bad time when the 24-year-old was already facing challenges as the leader after the Rajasthan Royals’s previous captain Sanju Samson moved to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2026. He has since struggled with keeping a batting score with having just over 81 runs indecently innings before this match, which drew him much criticism from cricket fans. But despite this, RR has chased down 222 with six wickets in hand.
