Pamela Chopra, the wife of the late Yash Chopra, breathed her last on April 20, 2023. The singer/producer/writer was 74 years old, and was suffering from pneumonia. She had been hospitalised at Lilavati Hospital to seek treatment for it. The news of her demise has come as a shocker to many. Several celebrities have taken to their social media to grieve Pamela Chopra’s death.

The official Instagram handle of Yash Raj Films confirmed this sad piece of news. They also mentioned in the post that Pamela Chopra’s cremation took place at 11 AM on April 20, and also that the Chopra family requests privacy at this moment. Condolences came pouring in from celebrities on social media. Javed Akhtar wrote in a tweet that Ramji was a ‘great lady’. He also described her as ‘intelligent, witty, educated and warm’. Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher, and more stars also are grieving Pamela Chopra’s death.

Anushka Sharma and Arjun Kapoor shared YRF’s post, and wrote ‘rest in peace’ in the caption remembering Pamela Chopra.

Several celebrities were also seen attending Pamela Chopra’s cremation. Pictures of Hrithik Roshan, his father Rakesh Roshan, Anupam Kher, and Uday Chopra have surfaced on social media.

It is also reported that in view of Pamela Chopra’s demise, the screening of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan which was scheduled for April 20, has been postponed.

Pamela Chopra contributed greatly to movies. She sang some of the most popular hits that are remembered even today and also was the costume designer on the sets of some of the most popular films. She was last seen in the docu-series titled The Romantics which is available for streaming on Netflix wherein she gave a sneak peek into her life with the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra.
