At Bollywood Day In Pakistani University, Students Dress Up As Babu Bhaiyya, Miss Chandni, And More!
This is kaafi cool!

Bollywood’s craze and fandom are not limited to India but also spread far and wide! Bollywood fever runs high even in Pakistan, which is considered to be India’s opponent! Art, film and music are such things which need to be respected beyond boundaries and animosity. Keeping this value in mind, a Pakistani university had organised Bollywood Day in their college for which students had dressed up as popular characters from Hindi films, and also narrated some of their dialogues on camera. A video of the same has gone viral on social media, and this proves that films see no barrier!
The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) had a day organised when all the seniors had dressed up as popular characters from Bollywood films. The occasion for this was the farewell of the senior batch. In the viral video, you will see students dressed up as Paresh Rawal’s character Baburao Ganpat Rao Apte from Hera Pheri, Sushmita Sen’s character Chandni from Main Hoon Na, and Salman Khan’s character Chulbul Panday from his blockbuster film Dabangg.

One of the students had also dressed up as Shah Rukh Khan’s character from Devdas, and he acted drunk while saying SRK’s popular dialogue, “Haan nafrat karta hoon mai tumse!” One of the students was spotted dressed up as Rajpal Yadav’s character from Bhool Bhulaiyaa! The nuances of the characters were also well replicated by the students.

While this celebration of Bollywood was very much appreciated by many people online, there was a section of people who criticised Pakistani students for appreciating Bollywood. The appreciation was not as strong but the criticism was very acute. People called the students for promoting Bollywood! There was no need to take it this far.
Educational institutions should celebrate their culture, traditions and special days as per #Pakistan but #LUMS and other educational institutions like them teach children against the culture of 🇵🇰. What is the purpose #LUMS held bollywod cultural day similar to Halowen day. pic.twitter.com/Zu2ZZJuuaH

#lums once upon a time our institution used to give special attention to students character but now a days even Lums is not following it. It seems some third class institution doing it. What they are producing. Shame on Lums pic.twitter.com/cokFjkpKp2

These kids only celebrated Bollywood Day, I loved the fun they had. What’s wrong in it? Let them live a few happy years of their lives before they are trapped in mundane situations of of practical life when in jobs. #LUMS pic.twitter.com/VkuomvlDnR

People need to understand that not everything needs to be subjected to hate in this world. Especially things related to art. Art is meant to be celebrated beyond language and barriers! The hate that was showered on the students was really sickening.
