“Skibidi”, “Delulu” And More Social Media Slang Terms To Be Added In Oxford Dictionary!
Around 6000 new words will be added to the Oxford Dictionary this year.

Well, every year, new words are added to the Great Oxford Dictionary, and this year, many new words have been selected for the same. Interestingly, some of them are inspired by the world of social media too. The internet is such a fascinating world that it has left a huge impact on the English language, with a number of slang terms floating around every other day. Now, they will officially be a part of the Oxford Dictionary too. Read on for more about it.
What Are The New Words?
There will be 6000 new words added to the Oxford Dictionary this year, and the words have been selected from the world of social media as well. The interesting list of words includes slang terms like Skibidi, which means nothing but “cool” or “bad” and can be used in the context of a bad joke.
As per a BBC report, even our favourite word ‘Delulu’ will be added to the list, and this is basically the social media abbreviation of the world Delusion which means that one deliberately chooses to live in the world of false narratives. Even Tradwife is another word added to the dictionary which basically is a short from of Traditional Wife. A woman who cooks, cleans and also regularly posts on social media, it’s another word framed in the social media context.
Words like Broligarchy, Gigil, mouse jiggler among others will be added to the list of Oxford dictonary. What do you think about it?
