Operation Sindoor Carried Out By Indian Armed Forces After Pahalgam Attack Added To NCERT Books

The shocking Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir took the lives of many innocent tourists who were enjoying nature. The videos and photos of the attack left each Indian with blood-boiling and teary eyes. India’s Armed Forces retaliated to this terror attack with Operation Sindoor. As per the latest reports, this act of bravery has been added to the NCERT books for classes 3 to 12. Read on for more about it.

Operation Sindoor In NCERT Books

As per the news reports, NCERT has introduced two modules on Operation Sindoor for classes 3-12. It has been mentioned in the module that the attack was carried out on April 22 after direct orders from Pakistan’s Military. The module also highlighted that Pakistan denied its involvement in the attack, however, it was only after “direct orders” from “Pakistan’s leadership and military” that the attack took place. The module also mentions about the strong protests that were carried out across India, and how Indian Muslims also condemned that attack strongly. There are details about Kashmiris shutting down their shops as a part of their protest, and Muslim Communities in Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Bhopal taking out marches.

As per the news reports, Operation Sindoor was added to the NCERT syllabus after three months of the retaliation. It further gives out some details about the Operation like the number of terrorist camps that were destroyed during the attack, the timing, the reason behind the name ‘Sindoor’ and also highlights that no civilians were harmed during the Operation, as per a report by Mint.

For classes 3-8, the module is titled ‘Operation Sindoor—A Saga of Valour’ and for the ones till 12, it’s  ‘Operation Sindoor—A Mission of Honour and Bravery’.
