In a rare television appearance, India’s three most decorated women officers from the Indian armed forces featured on the popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, this Friday. In the special episode. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, and Commander Prerna Deosthalee shared their insights on Operation Sindoor. Read on to know more.
Captain Vyomika Singh On Operation Sindoor
The operation was one of India’s decisive counterterror missions launched on May 7 in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh revealed that Indian forces conducted precision strikes that targeted nine key terrorist camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir during Operation Sindoor. “We attacked in the interiors of the enemy to break their backs. Twenty-one terror camps were recognised, nine were finalised, and the game was done in 25 minutes,” she recalled.

Sofiya Qureshi Reveals Her Ancestors Fought Alongside Rani Laxmi Bai
Then, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi clarified the targets of the mission. Bahawalpur was Jaish-e-Mohammed’s headquarters, where Pathankot and Pahalgam terrorists were trained, whereas Muridke was the base of Lashkar-e-Taiba, connected to Ajmal Kasab and David Headley. Colonel Sofia Quereshi also revealed that Indian air defense troops essentially thwarted Pakistan’s attempts to observe India’s military readiness with 300-400 drones.
She also revealed that her ancestors once fought under Rani LaBai during the Revolt of 1857. She said, “I belong to a family where everyone was in the Army. My great-grandmother’s ancestors were with Rani Laxmi Bai. I have not heard lullabies. I have heard tales of bravery, and I have listened to talks that tell the meaning of courage.”

Commander Prerna Deosthalee went on to describe the navy’s important role in Operation Sindoor, which included protecting marine boundaries, securing commerce lanes, and discouraging enemies. “When we strike, we strike in a way that the adversary would remember forever,” she elaborated.
