A dowry-related murder case from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has sparked nationwide fury. Nikki Bhati was tortured and set on fire by her husband, Vipin Bhati, over dowry demands. The brutal nature of the crime has shocked many, and until now, four arrests have been made related to the case. Here are 10 shocking facts about the Noida Murder Case that will horrify you. 

Prolonged Abuse

Nikki Bhati and her sister Kanchan had both married into the Bhati family in 2016 in Greater Noida’s Sirsa. The sisters reportedly endured domestic abuse, constant dowry demands and sabotage from their in-laws. Nikki had even returned to her parents’ home multiple times, but had to return due to societal pressures and hopes of reconciliation.

Vipin Bhati Set Nikki On Fire After Argument

Vipin allegedly doused Nikki with flammable liquid and set her on fire in their home. The victim died a few hours later in a Delhi hospital due to her burn injuries. Vipin later told police that they argued because he told her that filming reels or running a parlour was not allowed in their household.

Vipin Shows No Remorse

In a statement to the police, Vipin Bhati reportedly said that fights between married couples are common. The report also says that he showed no remorse for his late wife.

Kanchan And Nikki Bhatti’s Social Media Presence

Both Nikki and Kanchan Bhatti were quite active on Instagram. Kanchan even had a public Instagram account called @Makeover by Kanchan, which had over 54,000 followers on Instagram. Nikki, on the other had a private account which had 1,147 followers. Both actively posted videos and content on their accounts.

Arrests Made And Cases Filed So Far

A case was filed at the Kasna police station against the victim’s husband, Vipin Bhati, father-in-law, Satyaveer Bhati, mother-in-law, Daya Bhati, and brother-in-law, Rohit Bhati, under Section 103 (murder), Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), and Section 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). All of them have been apprehended by the police.
