The 2024 assault FIR against Vipin Bhati in the Noida dowry case has resurfaced amid the investigation over the death of his wife. It was reported that she was allegedly set on fire by him on August 21. The assault case was filed against him last year after he was caught with a girl, as per reports. Noida Dowry Case
28-year-old Nikki Bhati was allegedly set on fire by her husband, Vipin Bhati and in-laws over dowry demands. Her sister, who is married to Vipin’s brother, shared videos of her sister burning in flames. She claimed that it was her husband who set her on fire after assaulting her. Nikki’s father-in-law and brother-in-law were arrested by the Noida police in connection with her alleged murder in the Kasna region. Police also arrested Vipin and his 55-year-old mother, Daya Bhati.
According to investigators acquainted with the case, Nikki’s murder was the result of months of enmity over her desire to open a beauty salon and her active presence on Instagram, where she routinely shared videos with her sister, Kanchan. On the day of the alleged murder, police reported that she had again asked her husband to reopen the parlour, which was met with the “women in the family are not allowed to run businesses or create social media content.”

Many saw clips of Vipin pouring liquid on Nikki as she sat helplessly. Another captured him assaulting her, and a horrifying clip of Nikki burning in flames while rushing down a staircase. In a twist, CCTV footage claiming to show Vipin Bhati outside the house during the event has also surfaced. Police claimed they could not authenticate the veracity of the footage, which was only circulating on social media.
