A Congress minister was forced to wear a saree by some BJP workers because he had posted demeaning content about the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The pictures and videos have left us baffled. What Is The Case?
Wondering why this minister was made to wear a saree by the workers of the opposition party? Well. Congress minister Prakash Pagare has posted a morphed image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a saree. This move did not sit well with the BJP workers, who quickly carried out protests against the opposition party. They were also angry over the song that was used in the post and described it as ‘derogatory’.
BJP’s Kalyan district president Nandu Parab led the protest against the Congress minister Pagare , and in a strong retaliation to his actions, the BJP workers confronted him and forced him to wear a saree.
Now the question here is, is a woman’s traditional dress, saree a symbol of insult in India? A saree was used to punish the minister and to insult him, is this not equally demeaning for women as well? For how long will a woman’s attire or jewellery like bangles be seen or represented as symbol of the weak and feeble?
