It’s worth noting that Grirbala Singh, along with her son and Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth Singh, have been reportedly named as accused in the 33-year-old’s death, which has been ruled a suicide. While speaking with NDTV, Giribala Singh refuted the abetment to suicide allegations and stated that there was a huge difference between murder and death by suicide, adding that one act is voluntary. She accused Twisha of having a “schizophrenic” personality and said two people lived inside her daughter-in-law. She claimed that the night of her passing, there were four people in the house and the fourth one was her daughter-in-law’s mind.
Talking about the alleged events that unfolded on May 12, Giribala Singh claimed that they were watching TV together after which Twisha went to the terrace of the house and was later found hanging in her room. Giribala Singh told the outlet that this is how Twisha’s brain functioned, which involves being happy in one moment and sad in another. She alleged the possibility of her not taking medication, saying that withdrawal from medication can also cause side effects. She also claimed that Twisha would ask her not to monitor her or force her to take her medication every time she was asked to take her medication.

Giribala Singh further gave an example of Twisha Sharma’s alleged split personality, saying that she would say things like they wanted her to eat and be fat like a buffalo and just produce a baby but then other times she allegedly would say one must have children and enquire about raising a kid. The mother-in-law claimed that there were such personalities inside her, adding that Twisha allegedly needed to be monitored continuously. She further stated that her son, Samarth Singh tried to save their marriage and stood by his wife during counselling. She added that he was crying after seeing Twisha hanging, adding that he held the body when she tried removing the belt around her neck. She claimed that Samarth gave her CPR then they ran and pulled out a car. Giribala Singh stated that between all this, they have been tagged a criminal. The mother-in-law also said that her death has created a vacuum and also destroyed them, adding that her family had launched a “witch-hunt.” The retired judge shared that her family wanted them behind bars and claimed that Twisha was a product of her own “troubled personality.”
