What Happened?
The Miss Universe 2025 took place in Bangkok. During the live-streaming Sash event, a Thai pageant executive, Nawat Itsaragrisil, questioned Miss Mexico, Firma Bosch, for allegedly skipping a promotional shoot. During the NY post, the official also asked the contestant to “stand up and explain” in front of so many people. The situation got worse when the official called Miss Mexico “Dummy” and everyone in the room was shocked, as per the same news report. However, Firma Bosch did not stay shut and she confronted the official by saying that he disrespected her as a woman and as the representative of her country.
Moments later, many contestants including the current Miss Universe walked out of the room in support of Bosch. There was an uproar on social media too with everyone showing solidarity with Miss Mexico. Later, the official also issued an apology for his behaviour and said that it was a misunderstanding. However, as per the Miss Universe Organisation, the official would be sent back to Thailand, keeping in mind the need for a respectful environment moving forward.
Many users on social media criticised this incident and hailed Miss Mexico for standing up.
