It’s scary how the world is becoming more unsafe with each passing day. A few days back, the chilling video of a man allegedly harassing the Mexican President surfaced on social media. This yet again raised many questions on women’s safety in a world where even the highest authority in the country is not safe. As per the latest updates on the same, the President has filed an official complaint against the man and pressed charges against him. What Happened?
A few days back, the Mexican President, Claudia Sheinbaum, was allegedly groping during a public event. In the video that surfaced on social media, a man was seen trying to inappropriately touch the President from behind and he was immediately pushed by the security guard. This video raised concerns and questions on women’s safety worldwide. Many women questioned on women’s safety in a world where even the President was not safe. However, strong actions have been taken against the alleged harasser. President Sheinbaum has filed an official complainta against the man. On the official Twitter handle of the President, an update on the case was shared. As per this tweet, the President strongly stated that beyond her official responsibilities, she was a woman first and nobody had the right to touch “violate a woman’s body and personal space”.
The President also informed that the government would make sure to review the legislation and make such a crime punishable in all the 32 states.
