LinkedIn is a place where employers seek employees and vice versa, but someone thought this would also be the right platform to seek a “Junior Wife”. In an attempt to make it look funny, the user has ended up making unwanted sexist comments displaying a misogynistic mindset. The post was shared by a user named Jitendra Singh, In this post for “Urgent Hiring”, the user wants to get a “Junior Wife” with preferably zero years of experience. Jitendra Singh will also conduct three rounds of interviews with the right candidate, and the last one will be face-to-face, as per the post. In the list of requirements, he seeks a woman with 2 years of cooking, one who can make biryani at any time of the night, should be respectable and loving, has communication skills and also goal-oriented for his work. Firstly, the user should never really try to make jokes because clearly, it’s not his strongest suit. Secondly, the post was not funny because everything listed in the post is an example of sexism, gender stereotypes and misogyny. The existence of all this is the sole reason why feminism has become stronger in today’s day and age. And if one wants to make people laugh, maybe try cracking a joke that is not meant to shame women and reduce their role in society as mere housewives.
