FIR Lodged Against TMC MP Mahua Moitra Over Controversial Remarks Against Amit Shah

A lot of chaos has been going around in the political parties after TMC leader Mahua Moitra’s alleged statements against Home Minister Amit Shah. Many politicians from the opposition party have reacted strongly to the statement and have also demanded action against the TMC MP. As per the latest updates on the same, an FIR has also been lodged against Mahua Moitra over her controversial remarks. Read on to know more about it.

What Is The Mahua Moitra Controversy?

Mahua Moitra is a popular TMC leader who has come under a lot of heat after her statement on BJP Home Minister Amit Shah. In a video, the leader is heard talking about the Home Minister and blaming him for the illegal infiltration from Bengal in Bangladesh. She stated that Amit Shah was responsible for not keeping a check on the border infiltration and reportedly also said that “His head should be cut off”. This statement has not been received well by the leaders of other political parties. As per an NDTV report, an FIR has been filed against Mahua Moitra over her controversial statement.

As per an India Today report, the case was registered in Raipur by a local named Gopal Samanto. The FIR was lodged at the Mana Camp Police Station. The complainant has filed the FIR on the basis that the statement threatens democracy in the country and could also trigger disruptive elements.

As per the news report, the FIR has been registered under two sections:  Sections 196 and 197. As of now there are no reactions from either parties involved in the controversy.
