It’s worth noting that Lord’s decision to host cricket comes more than five decades after the first women’s international fixture, when England defeated Australia by eight wickets in an ODI in August 1976, was hosted at the said place. It appears that the upcoming Test at Lord’s is expected to be played before one of the biggest audiences in the format’s history. The ‘Home of Cricket’ media release revealed that more than 30,000 tickets have already been snapped up across the four days of the historic Rothesay England vs India Women’s Test, which makes it one of the world’s best-attended women’s Test matches ever.

What Did India’s Head Coach Say?
As per the reports, the Indian head coach stated on July 11 that it just boggled their minds that this is the first women’s Test at Lord’s. India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, also reflected on this milestone’s significance. She expressed that it was a very big moment for all of them. As a captain and as a player, she is really looking forward to this opportunity. The captain revealed that when she was a kid, she always dreamed of playing Test cricket, and playing at Lord’s as one of those dreams. She also revealed that all the girls are very excited.
