The Pune Lohagad Fort murder case of a young businessman, Ketan Agarwal, is unfolding with many shocking details. The police have arrested two primary suspects in the matter, the victim’s fiancé, Siya Goyal and her alleged partner, Chetan Chaudhary. The case was earlier reported as an accidental death, but gradually, the police dug deeper to find more disturbing details, and finally arrested the suspects. Read here for more.
Statements By Ketan’s Family
During the interrogation, the police also discovered from Ketan’s sister and family members that Siya Goyal had repeatedly asked Ketan to go to Lohagad Fort. After May 31, she had again asked him to go to the fort on May 2, but Ketan’s mother refused, as per an NDTV report. The family also reported that Siya had shown no remorse at the victim’s funeral.
The Bali Trip
Ketan and Siya had allegedly planned a Bali trip, which got cancelled at the last minute. It was cancelled because Ketan lost his passport, but as per the investigation, the passport was stolen and torn by Siya to deliberately cancel the plan.
CCTV Footages
Police checked through the CCTV footage from the Lohagad Fort, and spotted a man wearing a hoodie with his face covered. A hoodie in this hot weather raised eyebrows. He was seen walking a few metres behind Siya and Ketan, but his face was not visible. During the investigation, it was discovered that the man in the hoodie was Chetan Chaudhary. The police also said that Chetan Chaudhary had left his phone back at his shop.
Phone Calls
Police also traced many calls between Siya and Chetan Chaudhary, which also became a significant turning point in the investigation.
During the investigation and interrogation, the police also learned that Siya Goyal was not keen on getting married and wanted to postpone the wedding.
Currently, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are in police custody for the next seven days.
