The video was leaked from a Delhi hotel.
A disturbing claim going viral on social media has raised serious concerns about privacy and safety in hotels after a man put out a video, alleging that a four-star hotel in Delhi recorded a couple inside their room using a hidden CCTV camera. As per the complaint, which came out in a viral video, the incident reportedly involved police intervention and a cybercrime investigation.
Couple’s Leaked CCTV Footage Video Ft. Jubin Nautiyal’s Song Gets Taken Down Due To Copyright
The couple had checked into a Delhi hotel for a stay. However, their room allegedly had a camera installation. The matter came to light after hotel authorities found intimate footage of the couple recorded and later uploaded on the internet. Its revelation sparked widespread outrage and prompted immediate action by the police.
The man further claimed that when the footage began circulating on YouTube, it was taken down almost instantly once a copyright strike was triggered because a song by singer Jubin Nautiyal was playing in the background at the time of recording. This technicality reportedly helped limit the wider spread of the video and prevented further exploitation.
The matter was reported to the police and cybercrime officials shortly after it surfaced. It is a serious criminal offence in India to record private moments of any person without consent and then circulate such material. Under Section 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 66E of the Information Technology Act, the convicted offender can be imprisoned for three to seven years, in addition to heavy fines.
The police are urging victims of such crimes to instantly lodge an FIR and file a complaint on the official cybercrime complaint portal at cybercrime.gov.in. Law enforcement agencies may issue takedown notices on platforms hosting such content in order to ensure its removal.
Netizens following the viral reel have demanded strict legal action against the hotel involved and urged authorities to make the hotel’s identity public. The video, which has gone viral, was posted by Instagram user @balrajsyal, has drawn millions of views and stirred wide discussions on digital privacy and hotel safety.
