In case you don’t know, Pakistani cricketers played in the first season of IPL, which took place in 2008. However, after the Mumbai terror attack, Pakistani players’ involvement was banned during the tournament. Most of the time, Indian franchises with teams in overseas leagues try not to pick Pakistani sportsmen. After the Sunrisers picked Abrar Ahmed, it caused a lot of backlash from desi fans.
