We’re living in the era of weird trends like using your underwear as a rubber band, and one of them is Labubu dolls. These mischievous rabbit-type toys were invented by Hong Kong’s Kasing Lung, keeping the Nordic folklore in mind. Though it was created from cheeky forest elves, this trend has taken a dark turn on the internet. Here’ why people think so.

Is Labubu Doll Possessed?

Though Kasing Lung revealed that the Labubu dolls are inspired by Nordic elves, the drama-loving TikTokers don’t think the story is as simple. Many claim that the doll is cursed, evil, and even dangerous. According to some religious creators, any folklore not originate in Christianity is pagan, and hence, demonic. And after this, the doll became a threat in the Christian community.

All of this started in late 2024, when an exorcist came on a podcast and warned Christians should not have Labubu dolls if they represent ‘demonic spirits.’ After this, by mid-2025, influencers like @tailahofficial were already warning their followers about this doll. Such videos set the tone for dozens of creators, insisting that their spiritual vibes were off.

The Pazuzu Plot Twist

This all then took an even darker turn when a now-deleted post showed the Labubu doll next to an AI-generated image of the Mesopotamian demon Pazuzu. The internet page called Nocorious hinted at a spiritual connection, showing that this is a modern-day Pazuzu in disguise. However, others contended that the AI-generated image barely resembled Pazuzu and looked tailored to the narrative. The internet called out this conspiracy as a ‘religious psychosis.’

While many are making memes on this, others are calling it unnecessary. Either way, the Labubu is living like an unattainable entity in the minds of people and is here to stay!
