Another horrifying Kolkata rape case has yet again shook the state. The incident happened on June 25 in South Calcutta Law College where a 24-year-old female student was raped by an alumnus of the college, and two co-accused have also been arrested. During a recent media interaction, a student of the college spoke about the prime accused, Monojit Misra and how he created an environment of fear in the college. Read here for more about it.
What Did The Student Say?
Monojit Misra has been arrested for allegedly raping a 24-year-old student in South Calcutta Law College. The accused was an alumnus of the college and later joined as an employee. During an interview with NDTV, a former student of the college spoke about Monojit Misra’s terror on the campus. He was known as Monojit ‘Mango’ Misra, and as per the report, he used to s*xually harass female students, click their pictures, morph them and share them on various WhatsApp groups. According to the student, the accused had created an environment of fear on the campus and female students preferred to skip classes to avoid him.
The student also claimed that there have been numerous cases against Misra across Kolkata, but nobody dared to put a finger on him as he is connected with top leaders of Trinamool Congress. The list of cases includes harassment, theft, and vandalism, among others. The student further added that most of the girls on the campus were harassed by Monojit Misra and that his parents also broke relations with him, as per the report.

The police have arrested three men in the case: Monojit Misra, Pramit Mukhopadhyay and Zaib Ahmed. As per reports, police have said that the accused had pre-planned the torture, and the CCTV footage also backs the allegations made by the victim.
