Police Says Torture On Victim Was Pre-Planned By Accused In Kolkata Rape Case: Reports

West Bengal is witnessing a wave of strong protests against the brutal rape case that happened in the South Calcutta Law college. Based on the victim’s statements, three men have been arrested in the matter. A SIT (Special Investigating Team) team of nine people are investigating the case. As per the reports, the police have said that the accused had planned the torture of the victim days before. Read on to know more about it.

What Is The Police Saying?

As per the PTI report, the police have commented on the brutal rape case and stated that the entire incident was planned and they were plotting the plan to torture the victim from the past many day. According to the police, the prime accused in the case had been harassing the victim from the day she joined the college. The three accused in the case are Monojit Misra, Pratim Mukherjee and Zaid Ahmed. As per the reports, these three accused were also involved in harassing other female students of the college. The security guard of the college is also the fourth accused.  The police have also recorded the victim’s statement, and the CCTV footage collected from the college campus backs her ordeal, as per an NDTV report.

As per the reports, the victim was also attacked with a hockey stick and dragged inside a room, and the CCTV footage confirmed the claims.

The crime scene was recreated by the police. Amid this, TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee’s statement blaming the victim received severe backlash. However, the political party issued an official statement to refrain from being associated with the minister’s statement.
