Many protests are happening against the horrific rape and murder case of a 31-year-old doctor at the RG Kar Medical College. Recently, filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri also became a part of the rally in Kolkata. He extended his support in the fight against the heinous crime and during the interview with the media, the director also said that coming out on the straights is important if people want to make a difference.
What Did Vivek Agnihotri Say?
Vivek Agnihotri took part in the rally held on August 21, at 3:30 PM from Maula Ali to Dorina Crossing. He showed to show his support for the doctors and protest against the brutal rape and murder of the 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College. Vivek Agnihotri interacted with the media and spoke about his decision to join the protests. Vivek Agnihotri said that posting and writing on social media platforms like Instagram or Twitter is not enough and that people need to step out on the street and do the leg work. Vivek Agnihotri also stressed that people who have the power to inspire and encourage the youth with opinions should encourage them to participate in these protests.
Vivek Agnihotri also spoke about the gruesome incident and said that for the first few hours, he was in disbelief. Vivek Agnihotri revealed that he could not believe that something that cruel could be done to a doctor, someone who is considered to be a God in our country.

When asked about his opinions on the reactions from other people from the industry, Vivek Agnihotri said that he is not concerned about what others have to say and added that he only believes in the philosophy of ‘Ekla Cholo Re’.
