Kolkata Doctor’s Mother Slams Mamata Banerjee
On Tuesday, September 10, the victim’s mother criticised Mamata Banerjee’s statement as insensitive. She said that her family celebrated Durga Puja too, and her daughter used to handle everything. But unfortunately, it will not be celebrated in her house again. “How can I ask people to return to the festival? Let her return our daughter first.” She asked the Chief Minister if something like this would have happened in her family, would she have done this?
This criticism happened after Mamata Banerjee encouraged people to return to the festivities as the occasion of Durga Puja came near and also urged the junior doctors to return to their duties as soon as possible. In an emotional statement to ANI, the victim’s mother said, “The chief minister is lying. My daughter will not return. Would I lie in her name?” She said that they would receive money and also suggested that they build something in their daughter’s memory. The doctor’s mother told the CM that she would come to her office to collect the money after her daughter got justice.
She further stated that her family will continue protesting until their daughter gets justice. The victim’s cousin also stated that Mamata Banerjee offered financial compensation to their family. The CM told them that the money was not from the police.
