The 31-year-old RG Kar Medical College trainee doctor who was allegedly raped and murdered is yet to get her justice. The CBI is investigating the case and as per some news reports, it is already in the final stages of investigation. There have been recent updates on the case after the court heard the bail plea for the civic volunteer accused of the rape and murder crime. The date for the Supreme Court hearing is also here. 1. Bail Plea For Accused Sanjay Roy
During the court hearing in Sealdah for the bail plea, the CBI officer was late by 50 minutes. The judge was furious about it and questioned if he should grant bail to the accused, as per the news.
2. Accused Sent To Police Custody
The court sent the accused to police custody till September 12.
3. CBI Status Report
The Central Bureau of Investigation is asked to submit a report on the rape and murder case of the RG Kar Medical College on September 17.
4. Aparajita Bill Sent To The President
The Anti-Rape Bill also known as the Aparajita Bill passed by the West Bengal government was sent to President Draupadi Murmu for her approval.
5. Protests In Kolkata
On September 8, many women in Kolkata will hold the third ‘Reclaim The Night’ Protest. The horrifying rape and murder of the 31-year-old RG Kar Medical student happened on August 9, a month is already gone by.
6. Supreme Court Hearing
The Supreme Court hearing on the case was postponed from September 5 to September 9.
