The second Supreme Court hearing on the 31-year-old doctor’s rape and murder case took place on August 22, Thursday. The CBI presented a status report on the case and made some shocking revelations about the timeline of the investigation. The CBI revealed in its report that the first FIR was lodged after the body was cremated and that the victim’s family was initially told it was a suicide. Here’s a breakdown of CBI’s investigation of the crime reported to the Supreme Court bench.
1. When Was The General Diary Entry Made?
As per the CBI’s timeline of the doctor’s rape and murder crime, the first call about the discovery of the victim’s body was informed at 10:10 AM on August 9, and that was when the General Diary.
2. When Was The Unnatural Death Registered?
The crime was registered as unnatural death at 10:30 PM.
3. Then The Post-Mortem Happened
As per the documents submitted to the Supreme Court, the post-mortem of the body was done at 6-7 PM on August 9.
4. Investigation Begins
The Supreme Court bench noted that the investigation began only after the post-mortem of the victim took place.
5. Again A UD Was Registered
The Supreme Court finally concluded that the Unnatural Death was recorded at 11:30 PM
6. When Was The FIR Lodged?
The Supreme Court expressed its shock about the FIR being lodged at 11:45 PM on August 9.

During the hearing on the case, one of the Justices stated that he had not come across such a twisted case in the last 30 years.
