The Kolkata doctor rape and murder case is unfolding with new details each day. The Kolkata police have made some shocking revelations about the prime accused, Sanjay Roy. Also, the polygraph test that the CBI was going to conduct on the accused has been postponed for the time being, and no updates have been given on that. Read to know more about the case.
Polygraph Test Postponed
After the autopsy report confirmed Sanjay Roy’s involvement in the 31-year-old doctor’s rape and murder case, they also got permission to conduct a polygraph or lie-detector test on the accused. However, as per the latest news on the case, the test has been postponed by the CBI.
Kolkata Police Reveals Shocking Details
Kolkata police have revealed new details about the accused Sanjay Roy. They have cracked his whereabouts on the night of the crime, August 8. As per the news reports, Sanjay Roy visited two brothels on the same night and then in a drunk state, he returned to the RG Kar Medical College after midnight. CCTV recordings revealed that he entered and left the seminar hall where the doctor’s body was found.

On the other hand, the protests against crime continue to rise in the state and across the country. On Tuesday, August 20, the Supreme Court bench headed by CJI DY Chandrachud heard the case, and they passed some crucial remarks. The SC has formed a 10-member force to take responsibility for the safety and security of doctors across the country and come up with a plan of action.
