Kolkata Doctor Rape, Murder Case: Police Dismisses Video Ft Many People At Crime Scene, Says The Area Was Secured
The CBI is currently handling the rape and murder case of the 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College.

The Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case has seen some shocking developments in recent times. During the Supreme Court hearing, the bench criticised the initial investigation by the Kolkata Police and raised many questions. A video of many people standing inside the seminal hall, the place where the crime happened also surfaced, and a senior Police Officer recently addressed the media about it. What Did The Kolkata Police Officer Say?
During a recent interview, a senior Police Officer addressed the video doing rounds on social media. In this video, many police officers, doctors and guards were seen inside the seminar room where the 31-year-old trainee doctor was raped and murdered. However, the officer at Kolkata Police said that the place was cordoned off and no one was allowed at the crime scene. He also added that the people in the video were all standing outside the restricted area. As per the news report, the crime scene was secured using curtains and no one crossed that point.

The CBI is currently handling the investigation and has arrested a civic volunteer as the prime accused in the case. They presented a status report before the Supreme Court bench headed by CJI DY Chandrachud. The SC bench bashed the Kolkata Police for being ignorant and has also asked the police officer who filed the FIR to be present during the next hearing. The next hearing is scheduled for September 5, 2024.
