The Kolkata rape and murder case of a trainee doctor has shocked the country. The country mourned the demise of the trainee doctor from Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, who was brutally raped and murdered. As the investigations remain under process, new updates suggest insiders from the hospital were involved. The victim’s parents gave names of interns and physicians, who they believe are the actual culprits. According to the latest report by CBI, the parents have hinted at three names, who are believed to be the actual suspects.
For the same, the CBI has identified 30 suspects and the questioning has commenced. Amongst these 30 names are also officials from the Kolkata police force, who were initially involved in the case. Besides Dr Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of the hospital, two post-graduate trainees and a house staff member, who was on duty with the victim on the night of her death, have also been summoned in the case. For the unversed, Dr Ghosh resigned from his post, soon after the victim’s body was found dead. It was on August 9, when the doctor’s body was found.
Moreover, doctors have started their 24-hour nationwide strike, demanding justice for the victim. The first accused in the case–Sanjay Roy is also being questioned in the case. According to the latest reports, it is believed that Roy was just a scapegoat. Yesterday, the West Bengal CM headlined a TMC rally in Kolkata demanding justice for the victim.
