Kolkata Doctor Rape and Murder Case: Last night, during the protests for women’s safety in Kolkata, RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata faced a massive disturbance following the heinous rape and murder of a resident doctor. This incident has resulted in a halt in medical services as students and doctors continue to seek justice for the victim. Videos on the internet showcase a large group forcefully entering the hospital’s emergency ward, causing vandalism, and disrupting the entire protest area.
Local Goons Vandalise RG Kar Medical College And Hospital
Following the heinous crime, local goons vandalised the RG Kar hospital amid protests. The vandalism has left the medical staff in great shock and fear for their lives. According to PTI, the nurses have demanded better security in the building and stated that such hooliganism is unacceptable. However, the crime scene has remained untouched. The Kolkata Police issued a formal warning regarding the false rumours of the crime scene being vandalised. They clarified that the seminar room, where the tragic incident took place has remained untouched. Moreover, the police also added that they would take legal action against individuals involved in spreading rumours. The rumours about the crime being allegedly touched were made by a final-year MBBS student.

Moreover, according to ANI, the massive mob wrecked the entire Emergency department. Following, the goons went into the Trauma and Gyne buildings and threatened the nurses and doctors. Dr. Mridul Sarkar, a former R.G Kar student present at the hospital last night stated that the Police didn’t act effectively. Congress general secretary Deepa Dasmunshi also reacted to the rape case and mentioned that the situation is very alarming. She also added that with the revelation of 150 grams of semen found, it’s not a case involving just a few individuals; it’s likely a gang rape.
