Recently, the Kolkata Police also gave a justification on why the accused Sanjay Roy was riding a bike registered under the name of Commissioner.

The accused Sanjay Roy was using a bike that was registered under the name of the Commissioner of Kolkata Police. This raised many questions about the connections the accused shared with Kolkata Police. However, the police recently stated that they accepted that the bike used by Sanjay Roy was registered under the name of the Commissioner. They further added that many people on social media were trying to mislead this information and clarified that all the government vehicles in West Bengal are registered under the name of the Commissioner and stated that it was the standard procedure. The vehicles are later assigned to different units, added Kolkata Police in their statement.

The Kolkata Police had also addressed the viral video which showed many people gathered at the crime scene, where the doctor was allegedly raped and murdered. In their defence, the Kolkata Police said that the people in the video were standing outside the restricted area as the crime scene was secured using a curtain and nobody was allowed to enter there.
