Nationwide protests are happening across the country after the bone-chilling crime against a 31-year-old doctor at the RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. Even West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led a rally in the city to demand justice for the victim and she has also given an ultimatum to the CBI to complete the investigation. Mamata Banerjee Leads A Protest In Kolkata, Demands Capital Punishment For Accused
On August 16, many women in Kolkata stepped out on the streets to protest against the doctor’s rape and murder. This was led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The women shouted slogans for justice and action in the case.
Mamata Banerjee has sternly given an ultimatum to the CBI and has asked them to complete the probe by Sunday. The Chief Minister has also demanded capital punishment for the accused. In her statement, she said that the accused should be hanged and the CBI should provide the evidence.
Reacting to the vandalism, the West Bengal CM also said that other political parties were trying to create an atmosphere of hate in the state. Her party Trinamool Congress also received a lot of backlash for allegedly trying to cover up the crime, and now Mamata Banerjee leading a rally has also raised many eyebrows.

On the other hand, the CBI has questioned many doctors from the RG Kar Medical College. Many arrests have also been in cases of vandalism. In his statement, the Police Commissioner informed that all the evidence and documents of the case had been handed over to the CBI.
