Senior counsel Kapil Sibal told the Supreme Court on Monday that 23 people had died as a result of the doctors’ strike following the rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital in August. Sibal, who is representing West Bengal after the Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance of the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor, said the state government had filed a status report on the probe.
