According to CCTV footage accused Sanjay Roy, a 33-year-old civic volunteer with access to RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, was spotted near the victim shortly before the crime. The footage also indicates that Sanjay Roy was stalking the 31-year-old trainee doctor and was even staring at her. Sanjay Roy, the prime suspect in the rape and murder case is facing intense scrutiny. Furthermore, during interrogation, Sanjay Roy admitted that he had seen the 31-year-old victim in the chest medicine ward on August 8, the day before the incident. Moreover, the CCTV footage thoroughly supported his statement.
Additionally, sources from CBI described the accused as a s*xual pervert with animal-like instincts and revealed that he did not show any remorse during the interrogation. Furthermore, the Resident Doctors Association (RDA) decided to end the 11-day strike for the nation and public service. RDA expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for addressing the incident and improved safety measures.
