The psychoanalysis test conducted on Sanjoy Roy, the accused in the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has revealed disturbing insights into his psychological profile. Experts from Delhi’s Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) were brought in by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to assess Roy, and they described him as exhibiting traits of a s*xual pervert with animalistic instincts.

Details On Psychoanalysis Test of Accused

During the evaluation, it was noted that Sanjay Roy displayed a disturbing calmness while recounting the events that transpired at the crime scene. He described the incident emotionlessly, which raised concerns among the psychoanalysts. They are currently examining his statements alongside the postmortem and forensic reports to establish a coherent understanding of his mental state and actions.

Further complicating the case is the technical and scientific evidence that confirms Roy’s presence at the scene. While DNA results are still pending, initial investigations by the Kolkata police revealed that traces of blood and skin found under the victim’s nails matched the injuries on Roy’s hands, strengthening the case against him. Sanjay Roy, who is a trained boxer and had built connections with senior police officers over the years, was stationed at the police outpost at RG Kar Hospital. CCTV footage from the hospital has placed him near the victim’s ward shortly before the crime, adding to the suspicions of his involvement.

The victim, who had been working a long shift, was last seen returning to the seminar hall to rest after having dinner with colleagues. Subsequent CCTV recordings showed Roy re-entering the hospital around 4 am, heading towards the seminar hall where the victim was last known to be resting.

The CBI is set to present a status report on the investigation to the Supreme Court. With the case drawing national attention, the CBI is considering conducting future hearings virtually for safety reasons. Roy’s court appearance is scheduled for Friday, where he will meet with defence lawyers appointed by the state for the first time since his arrest. This case highlights significant concerns regarding safety and security within medical institutions and the need for stringent measures to protect healthcare professionals.
