Kolkata Doctor Rape, Murder Case: Mother-In-Law Of Accused Says He Abused Pregnant Wife, Caused Miscarriage
Accused Sanjay Roy's mother-in-law shared that he used to physically abuse his wife.
The gruesome incident involving the 31-year-old trainee doctor has left everyone in immense shock and fear. Doctors have been protesting nationwide to demand justice for the victim, and the CBI is currently handling this horrific case. Amid the ongoing investigations and protests regarding the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case, the accused, Sanjoy Roy’s mother-in-law, stated that he was abusive towards his ex-wife.

In an exclusive conversation with ANI, Sanjay’s mother-in-law described her daughter’s relationship with Sanjoy Roy and said that their relationship was strained. She mentioned that Roy had physically harmed her daughter which led them to file a police complaint against him. She further added that the accused physically abused his pregnant wife which caused a miscarriage. At first, things were fine for six months. When she was three months pregnant, Sanjay forced her to lose the baby. He hit her, and they reported it to the police. After that, her daughter remained sick, and she paid for all her medicines, added the mother-in-law.
Moreover, the mother-in-law stated that Sanjoy Roy should face severe punishment for his actions. However, she also shared that it’s unlikely that Sanjoy Roy was alone in the tragic incident. She further added that more people might have been involved in the alleged rape and murder case of the trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Indicating that Sanjoy Roy couldn’t have committed the crime by himself. “Sanjay was bad. Hang him or do whatever you want with him. But, he couldn’t have done it alone” she stated.
