Many shocking revelations about the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case have come out from the CBI report. On Thursday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) shared an update on its investigation into the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. From the crime scene being altered to the FIR being filed after the cremation, here are all the shocking revelations!

1. FIR was allegedly filed after cremation
Solicitor General Mehta revealed that the FIR was filed at 11:45 pm after the victim was cremated. The Supreme Court judges said that there was a delay by the Kolkata Police in registering the case as an unnatural death. However, they pointed out that the record of unnatural death was made at 10:10 am, but the crime scene was only secured at night which caused a delay in collecting important evidence.
2. Postmortem time
Furthermore, they also asked the police about when the time of the victim’s postmortem. Advocate Kapil Sibal, representing the West Bengal government revealed that the postmortem happened around 6-7 pm. Justice JB Pardiwalla was surprised as the postmortem happened before they registered it as an unnatural death. Later, the court asked if it was really an unnatural death when the police took the body for postmortem, and if it wasn’t, why did they need to do a postmortem.
3. The crime scene was tampered
The Central Bureau of Investigation informed the Supreme Court today that the crime scene at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata had been tampered with. Additionally, the CBI highlighted that the initial FIR was lodged after the victim’s cremation, specifically at 11:45 pm.
4. Forensic and DNA reports confirm Sanjay Roy’s involvement
According to sources, the forensic report confirmed that the doctor was s*xually assaulted and murdered by Sanjay Roy. Reportedly, the DNA test confirmed the involvement of only one person.
5. Case reporting time
General Diary (GD) was recorded at 10:10 AM after a phone call was received that a PG lady doctor was found unconscious on the third floor.
6. Initially the victim’s family was told that it was a suicide
The CBI further added that the Kolkata Police initially informed the victim’s family that it was a case of suicide. However, they later told them that it was murder. They also stated that the victim’s friend suspected a cover-up in the case and thus, insisted on videography. However, the West Bengal government denied those claims and stated, “Everything was videographed.”
